Inge @ Pandora’s Music Box 1985
With a love for bands pushing the boundaries of contemporary music, I photographed many alternative, obscure and exciting artists in some of the most iconic venues.
Armed with nothing more than an analogue Nikon FE and an unwavering passion for dark and elusive music, I captured groundbreaking, sometimes chaotic, but always thrilling gigs of the era.
Concerts by the likes of Psychic TV, Virgin Prunes, Clock DVA and Tuxedomoon opened up a world of wonder for me. These performances were unlike anything I had ever experienced, challenging environments tinged with madness and populated by those who were not afraid to shock. I was captivated by the raw, unbridled energy and my fascination led me to explore different forms of art, theatre and film that embodied the same powerful beauty.
It all came together for me in my work as a photographer and designer in the alternative music scene, where rebellion and non-conformism were celebrated and creativity knew no bounds. It was an exhilarating and transformative experience that I will always cherish, a fantastic time!
For fans of experimental post-punk, industrial and new-wave bands from the 80s and 90s, I have finally released this special part of my archive. I hope you enjoy it!
